My teenage years were deeply affected by a certain body ideal portrayed in mass media and I was far from it. Being judged as overweight by society led to a number of body image issues in my later years. I often think of Under Her Skin as a way for me to overcome my own struggles by sharing my stories and those of other women. The project explores women's relationship with their bodies and aims to create a safe space for women to share their individual stories while bringing attention to female body representation in the fashion industry, cultural beauty standards, body politics and society's pressure to present a certain version of oneself.
